Meet Lynette Eason
A note from Katherine: I first met Lynette Eason about 12 years ago at a writing conference in the North Carolina mountains. With a group of other aspiring authors, I experienced the joy of being in a fiction writing workshop. Lynette is an amazing romantic suspense author, but there’s more. She’s a gifted teacher, a great mentor, and an agent who supports other authors in their work.
Lynette partners with Dani Pettrey (another great romantic suspense author) in an upcoming release, Whiteout. I hope you like learning more about Lynette. I know you’ll enjoy her newest book. Order information is below.
Interview with Lynette Eason
QUESTION: What was the inspiration to write Snowbound Secrets?
LYNETTE: Dani actually came up with the whole snowbound idea. She had a story in her head she wanted to write in that setting so I came up with one too, to introduce Broken Chains Ranch and the start of my new series, Soldiers in Shadows.
QUESTION: Did you learn something new about being trapped in a snowstorm through your research?
LYNETTE: I learned that I don’t want to be trapped at a ski lodge no matter how luxurious it is. Haha. But I enjoyed living vicariously through Maya’s experiences.
QUESTION: Do you have a favorite character from the book (favorite to write or in general)? If so, who is it and why?
LYNETTE: The heroine, Maya, is my favorite, I think. It was fun exploring her past and why she became the person she was. And why she wanted to turn the ranch into a place of healing.
QUESTION: Did any real experiences or places inspire scenes in the book?
LYNETTE: Nope, not a single one. It’s completely made up from the rusty cogs of my imagination.
QUESTION: How would you describe the dynamic between Maya and Gideon in three words?
LYNETTE: Tense, tender, tight.
QUESTION: Did you know who the villain was when you started writing?
LYNETTE: I was kind of surprised at who the villain turned out to be. I had one in mind, but it turned out to be someone else entirely with a completely different motive that what I originally came up with.
QUESTION: If you were trapped in a ski lodge during a blizzard, what three things would you want with you?
LYNETTE: My husband, my Bible, the internet.
QUESTION: What’s your ideal snow day activity?
LYNETTE: Sitting inside by the fire reading or writing a good book with a box of chocolates next to me.
From Katherine: My thoughts exactly, Lynette! (Good book, hot fire, and chocolates–what could top that?)
