Our refuge

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly, he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:5-8

This week I’m taking some time away from farm chores, home repairs, and the internet.

I’m escaping!

Part of the time, I will be writing–working on completing several projects to be sent off to editors and publishers for consideration. (Your prayers are appreciated!)

But I’m also seeking refuge and peace during this time when I am freed from my regular responsibilities. Like many of you, the past sixteen months have been challenging for me. Perhaps you also have experienced isolation, anxiety, stress, and sorrow. Where can we find comfort and protection in times of need?

God is our refuge.

We can only find peace and comfort through Him. Jesus carries our burdens. Our task is to give Him those burdens so that we can find rest.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

I’m praying for you, my friends–that this week, you and I will find refuge in our Lord and be granted the peace only He can bestow.
